Thanks to the generosity of the #uglydogs community, and others, we were able to raise an incredible $37,500 this Iditarod! Of that, $19,300 went toward 38 different DonorsChoose projects, helping 35 different teachers across over 20 schools in Alaska. In addition, we raised almost $8,000 for rural animal care, helping to ensure the health and well-being of our furry friends at the soul of this all. I would say heart, but it is truly everyone’s generosity and kindness that is the heart of igivearod.
Our commitment to supporting marginalized communities was also reflected in the over $3,000 we raised for LGBTQIA+ causes, and the over $5,000 we raised for social and native services. These funds will go towards supporting vital services and initiatives that benefit and celebrate these important populations.
We are so grateful for the support of everyone who contributed to igivearod this year, and we look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in our community in the future, all year long, in any way big and small you can find.
